Wonderland is composed of 5 factions, 1 of them neutral and the other 4 in constant competition. Though the competition may become heated at times and homicide may be frequent, they are still bound by rules of Wonderland and are generally not hostile toward each other on personal level.

With the exception of the Joker faction, members of all 4 other factions can choose freely where they live.  It is their roles that determine which faction they belong to.  While some roles can gain membership in any factions (such as servant), certain roles are unique, and can only belong to a single faction (such as royalties).  Roles are determined whenever the character stops aging, and will stick to him/her for the rest of his/her life---with the exception of a temporary role of representative, given when the character is chosen to be the leader of a ruling faction.

Alice (NPC)

A young woman who suffers from the guilt of possibly killing someone she loved dearly, Alice entered Wonderland in order to escape the pressures of the real world.  It was said that Wonderland reflects her soul and memories, though Alice herself is unaware of it.  Realistic and cynical, Alice tends to have a pessimistic view on things around her and is constantly skeptical of Wonderland.  It is due to her unstable mindset does Wonderland possess such disorders.

:new:Faction of Joker (mod characters)

The faction of Joker is the only neutral faction and they are the overseers of the Wonderland.  The faction of Joker is concentrated in a tiny area of land, so small that they are often not seen on the map.  The members of this faction, however, are the most powerful beings of Wonderland.  They are strict rule-enforcers, and will not hesitate to punish anyone who is found guilty.  Because Alice is an oddity to Wonderland, the faction of Joker is constantly trying to track her down and capture her.  However, due to the rule in which states that everyone must respect Alice, the members within the faction are in conflict on what they should do with her.  As a result, the faction of Joker is divided into two sides of black and white, with black members supporting and respecting Alice, and white members trying to eliminate her to maintain orders (or disorders) of Wonderland.

All roles within faction of Joker are Unique and cannot be held by members of other factions.  These roles are:
:bulletblack:  Black Joker and White Joker, a pair of twins that leads either divisions.  Also the most powerful beings in Wonderland.  The twins possess all of Joker members' abilities aside from the ability to fix clockhearts.  While they are considered the leaders of Joker faction, there's no specific responsibility bestowed upon them.

:bulletwhite:  Jailmaster, who watches over the jail to make sure no rule-breakers escape from it.  The jailmaster has access to the jail anytime and anywhere.

:bulletblack:  Judge, a single being responsible for bestowing punishment to those who have been brought forth before they are thrown into jail.  The judge finds everyone before him/her guilty.

:bulletwhite:  Seer, a being who has the eyes to see everything happening in Wonderland.  Though due to the amount of things happening at times, their visions tend to be obscure, clouded by many events at once.  However, rule-breakers are always clearly seen.

:bulletblack:  Enforcers, Joker faction exclusive army. The enforcers are responsible in capturing rule-breakers seen by the Seer and bringing any broken clockhearts they see to the repairmen should the shadows fail to do so for whatever reason.  The enforcers do not possess any magical ability aside from superior fighting skills.  They may enter the jail with the permission granted by the jailmaster.

:bulletwhite:  Repairmen, the only group of Joker members who possess the unique ability to fix broken clockhearts.   They do not possess any special power otherwise.

Faction of Heart

The mighty faction of Heart is an alliance made up of citizens of high class, ranging from nobles, knights, to royalties such as kings and queens.  Being the wealthiest faction, the faction of Heart also holds the most military power.  The faction of Heart does not mix with the other factions, for they feel responsible in keeping up the pure and honorable high blood-lines.  Because of their prestige, most Hearts members resent members of other Factions as they often do not deem them worthy.

*Exclusive and unique **roles of nobility / royalty / high status (not available to other factions):

:bulletred:  King / Queen

*There may be exceptions if a Hearts Member defects to the Spade faction.

**Not all citizens from the Heart Faction are nobles or royalty!  There are also normal citizens as well!

Faction of Spade

Known as a group of rule-breakers, the faction of Spade offers shelter to anyone who have violated the laws of Wonderland in the past.  Spade Faction consists of a motley mix of citizens, from normal citizens, to refugees from all other factions, to Mafia members.  Not all Citizens are dangerous criminals or evil but they make a point to show the faction of Joker that they are not a group to be easily taken down. The faction of Spade specializes in weaponry, and possesses the most advanced technology in Wonderland.

Some examples of *criminal-oriented roles include:

Mafia members:
:bulletblue:  Don / Donna

*Please keep in mind that there are also many (innocent) normal citizens in Spades as well!  You do NOT have to be a criminal to be in the Spades Faction!

WARNING:  Being in the Spades faction means your character, regardless of their innocence, CANNOT break ANY Untouchable Laws. This means that if the reason why your character lives in Spades is because they initially destroyed a clockheart, they cannot destroy another clockheart or they will immediately be thrown in jail.

Faction of Diamond

The faction of Diamond is a group of citizens who do not like to be bogged down to a single place.  Although lowest in the class ladder, members from the faction of Diamond enjoy the most freedom out of all factions as they generally do not hold roles with high responsibility.  The most noticeable trait of faction of Diamond is their animal features.   Although citizens with animal features can be seen in factions of spade as well, almost all of them belong to the faction of Diamond, making animal trait a distinguishing factor setting this faction apart from all other factions.

NOTE #1: Citizens with animal traits can only belong in two factions, Diamond and Spade at a 9: 1 ratio.  We WILL discriminate against those with animal traits wanting to enter the faction of spade, so it is recommended that you avoid this combination.

NOTE #2:  The animal traits of a citizen is for appearance only. They will not have the abilities associated with the traits.

Common Examples:
:bulletblack:  A Citizen with wings, regardless of their size CANNOT FLY.

:bulletblack:  Having cat ears / tail / paws / feet does not mean your character has super fast speed, superior reflexes or sharp hearing.

:bulletblack:  Wolf or dog ears / tail / paws / feet does not give your character more power and speed than any other citizens and it does not always  mean your character has a better sense of smell.

:bulletblack:  Having physical character traits of a bird does not always mean your character is naturally talented at singing, has a godly voice, has super sharp eye sight, etc.

:bulletblack:  Having snake characteristics does not give your character poisonous fangs, etc.

Example of common *performer-oriented roles held by a Diamond member include:

:bulletyellow:  Ringmaster
:bulletyellow:  Acrobat
:bulletyellow:  Illusionist
:bulletyellow:  Tamers

:bulletyellow:  Wanderer / Nomad
*Roles are not limited to just performers!

Faction of Clover

Known as the Supernaturals, the faction of Clover is a society composed of citizens with magical abilities.  Similar to the faction of Spade in that this faction contains a wide range of class ranks, members of faction of Clover are hesitant to mix themselves with members of other faction.  Though powerful, the Clover members faithfully abide by the rules and prefer peace over anything else.  It is said that anyone who leaves the faction of Clover also loses his/her ability to use magic.

Members from Faction of Clover can only have a single magic ability.  For example, you can have a character who can fly, but you cannot have a character who can fly and shoot fireballs.

Examples of unique and *exclusive magic oriented roles:

:bulletgreen:  Magician
:bulletgreen:  Wizard / Warlock / Witch
:bulletgreen:  Sorcerer / Sorceress
:bulletgreen:  Mage
:bulletgreen:  Enchanter / Enchantress

*The Clover faction also consists of normal citizens who cannot use magic at all!  You do not have to be able to use magic to be in the Clover Faction.

Switching Factions

Generally, members are do not switch faction unless something major happened during the course of a role-play.  If a character has a justifiable reason to switch, he/she must abide to the following restrictions:

:bulletred:  Heart: Entering is not allowed, anyone is free to leave, but they will lose their roles held during their time in the faction.

:bulletblue:  Spade: Entering is allowed for anyone who has broken a rule.  Exiting the faction is forbidden.

:bulletyellow:  Diamond: Free to enter and exit.

:bulletgreen:  Clover: Entering is not allowed.  Anyone is free to leave, but they will lose their roles in addition to their abilities.
